Interfacial transport of nano-objects through the pulmonary surfactant


The particularly dynamic properties of pulmonary surfactant complexes sustain their rapid adsorption into the air-liquid interface, and their extraordinarily efficient lateral diffusion alongs it. As a matter of fact, endotracheal instillation of clinical pulmonary surfactant preparations follows with its rapid extensión to reach and stabilize the large respiratory surface at the distal airways.

NANOBIOSOMA will pursue the incorporation and integration of nanoobjects into pulmonary surfactant preparations that will be optimized to serve as efficient vehicle for adsorption, transfer and difussion of these nanoobjects alongs air-liquid interfaces.
